Leave the clock at the door.
Most studios rent you a room and a countdown. The Woodshed gives you six rooms, serious gear, and nowhere else you have to be. The drums get their own room. So do the vocals, the piano, and the strings, and the Hammond has a corner all its own. The whole band plays together, sees each other through the screens, and every note lands in the record clean.
The whole band, one take
Six live rooms means everyone plays at once without bleeding into each other's mics. Capture the energy of a live band with the control of a studio record.
An engineer who gets your sound
Several engineers work here, each with their own ear. Tell us what you make and we'll pair you with the one who hears it the way you do.
Gear that earns its place
Neumann, Coles, and Royer up front. Avalon, Neve, and Manley in the chain. Lynx conversion on the way in. No compromises anywhere the signal goes.
A staircase from the mic
Wake up with the fix for the bridge and you're one flight of stairs from tracking it. No drive home, no rebooking, no losing the moment.
A mic locker worth the drive.
A Neumann U87 and a Coles 4038 pair. A Yamaha C7 grand and a Hammond with its Leslie. Avalon, Neve, and Manley in the chain, and a Bricasti M7 for the room you don't have.
Who you'll work with.
The engineers
Photos, credits, and the kinds of music each engineer does best.
